April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring?

We have an announcement to make!!! We are going to purchase the E-Z Music building located here in down town Holdrege. We are so excited!! As we are branching out to different routines such as dance and swing poi we find that our small house is very very small.

I can't believe it is June, where is the time going? We all feel so blessed this year and our hearts are full of gratitude for our Heavenly Father's blessings. I guess I had better back up a little.

Monday was Memorial Day! Dad and the boys had the day off and so we spent the day practicing and having a much needed planning session. We put a patriotic program together and had a blast making new arrangements for some patriotic songs, putting different routines together, and polishing the song we already knew. Here are some snapshots of our day...

the "Blueprint" of our Patriotic program

our "Uncle Sam"

Katie and I figured out the harmony for the Davy Crockett Ballad

Davy Crockett (Graham in his coonskin cap) fights many a foe throughout the song. One verse starts like this...

"Fought single-handed through the Indian war, till the Creeks was whipped and peace was in store..."
So John choreographed a fight between Crockett and a Indian (Isaac just needs his feathers)

...and thus Davy "made himself a legend forevermore... Davy, Davy Crockett King of the wild Frontier"

That evening we got a phone call and our friend told us that a tornado had touched down in Cozad and that we were in for a big storm. Of course, we weren't going to miss it...

We have never seen clouds quite like this before and the next day we found out that there had been eight tornados from this storm. Luckily we did not get anything but some hail and a lot of rain...

We felt so grateful for the Lord's watchful care and protection. Our gardens enjoyed the rain though. Our tiny vegetable garden is finally starting to grow and I can't wait till we can eat squash again yummm

Our peas are growing like weeds...

POI!!!!
John and Katie are trying to put a flag dance routine together for our patriotic program. Just to practice we use nylon socks with tennis balls inside them instead of flags. Poi is a performance art found in Polynesia. It has been so fun and challenging to learn how to get the balls twisting and turning the right directions without getting hit.

Well pillows do help to soften the blows. It starts to hurt after hitting oneself a hundred times.

Is that better now Marilee?

Thursday we had the opportunity to perform at the Evangelical Free Church in Franklin.
It was their annual salad supper and the food was DELICIOUS!!! The people we met that night were so nice to us and we felt so blessed to be able to fellowship with them. We performed our Hillbilly program for them. Here are some pictures that we took that night:

1st step: set up the instruments

2nd step: Tune ALL of our instruments
keep it up seth... they sounded great...

Last minute practices never hurt anybody right?

PERFORMANCE TIME!!!
Sorry we recorded our program this time so we did not get any pictures of the actual performance... oh well, maybe next time...
Here is a snapshot of our "card"...
He is the main character in our skit and he does a wonderful job entertaining the folks with his numberless facial expressions and mime while Joseph reads the narrative... We couldn't do it without you Graham!!!

God has indeed been good to us... We have been blessed with inspiration as we worked to put a new program together, we have been blessed with protection from the threatening elements, we have had hilarious memories working together on new skills, and last but definitely not least we have been able to meet wonderful Christian people with whom we have been able to share our love of Jesus Christ...

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."
Psalms 139:14
