No place like Home!!!

FRIENDS!!!

Our good friends, neighbors, and "adopted grandparents" Mr. and Mrs. Bills invited us over to their house to meet some of their grandchildren who had come to visit from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. They threw a pizza party and then we played a revised version of Monkey in the Middle for about 3 hours straight. We had a blast!!!
Ana, Sara, Tessa, and Niall Burns

It was so fun to meet you all. Keep in touch...

This week has been quite the adventure. As we have progressed in our efforts to buy the EZ music building we have felt nervous about taking responsibility for such a large building especially since the economy is so uncertain. However, we have been blessed with the feelings of peace and assurance that since we have embarked on a mission from the Lord, He will provide the means and a way for everything to work out the way He want it to. It is so comforting for us to know that He is in charge of His work and that He has the power to do anything. So we move forward with faith...

We have had some much needed quite school days this week. It is our last week of school for a while. We are going to start a music summer camp next week. I will let you know how it goes...

Mom made one of my favorite desserts this week...

What is it? Manna???

NO!!!! Its seriously the most delicious Lemon Bundt Cake in this universe!!!!

A few weeks ago Kimball finished his semester at the community college and he needed a project. So this week he started by ripping up the carpet on our stairs. It really needed to be replaced. Keep up the good work Kimball...

Here's the stairway without carpet, ready and waiting for the local Bruce Furniture man to come install the carpet...

That is much better. It not an eyesore anymore and Mom is very relieved to finally have that done. Its been on the list of things to do for a long time.

And I thought school ended in May...

It does but not "Kids and Company", an after school program that runs camps for children during the summer. Covey works for "Kids and Company" in Council Bluffs, Iowa, invited us to come and play for his school children. We readily agreed and had a great time playing for his children.
Are you ready to start Graham?
After our program we let the children come up and play on some of the different instruments. It was a great experience. We love to teach children about music and to watch their expressions when we pull out a new trick like juggling or jump roping...

After the school program we went to Covey and Melody's apartment and enjoyed a much anticipated taco salad dinner. It was so fun to be able to spend this time with Covey, Melody, and our "Mr." Mack.

I don't know what battle Graham and Marilee were reenacting but it sure sounded like a lot of fun.
I don't know if that pillar is thick enough Graham...

STRATEGO!!! Seth has finally met his match right Isaac?

Mack wants to grow up to be a airplane pilot. He loves to go flying around the room. He is 3 months old today and is growing up so fast. Mack is beginning to smile more and it is the most adorable smile imaginable.

THANK YOU Covey and Melody! We had a wonderful time. We love you!!!!

On our way home we stopped in Aurora and performed our patriotic program for the nursing home there.

Katie, Seth, and I like to play fiddle music before and after each of our programs. We call ourselves RUN RUCKUS. We play through a fantastic fiddle book that has many popular fiddle tunes. We sure do make quite the ruckus...

Packing up

Marilee magnified her PR (pet relations) job. She enjoyed playing with the nursing home's dog Buddy. He is a very friendly and happy dog who always brightens everyone's day right Marilee?

"Just whistle while you work..." or pack
The best part of our time in Aurora is visiting with the residents

This week we have felt the Lord's hand in our lives many times. We have met new friends. The Lord has protected us from harm as we have traveled over 600 miles. We have been able to spend time with Covey, Melody, and Mack. We have been able to express our love of God and country through patriotic music. And finally we have made the final steps to purchasing the EZ music building. God has indeed been good to us and so we will

"...go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for we know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them."

The stairs look great! Melody noticed the hallway also had new carpet. Did the whole downstairs get new carpet?

  2. The new carpet went on the stairs and stopped after it passed the storage room door. We love the smell of new carpet!

  3. Hey Richards Family
Sorry it took so long to post a comment!! We had a great time with you all while we were there. The monkey in the middle game was probably one of the most extreme games ever played. Same with the cricket!! The cinnamon rolls were the best we EVER had!!!
We hope to stay in touch,

  5. Hey Richards family!!! We all miss you and had such a GREAT time with you guys (even if you did pull my ankles. Not cool) and we had a great threeish hours of money in the middle (sorry Betsy!) full of fun tipping people upside down to get the ball :) Either way it was sooo much fun and it was so awesome to get to meet you. You guys are so talented and we miss you :)

  6. Out of the things we like about performing, it is getting to know people like you. You were all very nice and fun to be with. We hope that you enjoyed your visit to Nebraska and that you will come again. We miss you too, God bless!!

  7. Hello Ana and Burns family, you are right about how fun monkey in the middle was. I don't think that Niall has ever or will ever play a game where he spends most of his time upside down... hahahaha And since we were kneeling down, ankles just happened to be a good place to grab:) Okay, so it is probably a good thing that this is not something we play every night or we would all probably end up with black eyes;)hehehe
We hope you are all enjoying the summer!!

  8. Hi Sara, Ana, Niall, and Tes ...Thanks Sara and Ana for writing, that it is so fun to hear from both of you.
I hope you are all staying out of trouble! :) You know I must confess that I had never played monkey in the middle before, but I think crabbing ankles was a nice addition! It spiced things up, don't you think! Good thing we stopped when we did who knows what we might of added next. Maybe tackling... :) Just wait till next time we see you all, we are going to play full contact spoons...it will be the best experience of you life, hehe!
Like my brother said, the best part about performing is meeting new people and it's a bonus when they are as good and as nice as all of you. It makes it all worth it! Thanks for playing with us and joining in. We all hope to hear from you again soon.

    Your ankle grabber,
    Joseph
